Nate Boyer, a former Army Special Forces Soldier and current NFL player, participated in the Southern California Tough Mudder with several veteran friends on Oct. 8. The Army Reserve is a sponsor for the Southern California Tough Mudder, where participants run a basic-training-like course more than 10 miles long with 22 different team obstacles.
“I’m afraid of heights and don’t like getting shocked, but this event gave us the opportunity to work together as a team and face our individual fears,” said Boyer. Such events attract a wide range of participants, especially veterans, say organizers.
