Each fall, federal civilians, military members and retirees pledge in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) to help those in need locally, across the nation, and around the world. The CFC gives you an easy way to make charitable donations with payroll or annuity deductions and the opportunity to give to multiple charities at once. Plus, the combined power of the federal community means that your CFC gift has a collective impact.
With over 5,000 CFC charities to choose from in the CFC, it might be hard to know where you want to direct your pledge. We may be a little biased, but we think Global Impact charities are a great place to start.
Global Impact’s charity alliance is made up of nearly 100 trusted, leading international charities. When you give to one (or more) of them, you can feel confident that your pledge is being used effectively by a well-vetted charity making a real difference around the world.
Now that we helped you narrow it down from 5,000 to 100 options, there is one more step you can take to select your charity. Global Impact’s Find Your Cause Quiz is a fun and easy way to learn more about yourself and find a cause that you feel connected to. It could be anything from education and economic development to hunger and clean water! Take the quiz to find out!
After getting your quiz results, you can visit charity.org/give to learn more about your cause, find a CFC charity that works in that area and become a global champion.
Here are just a few examples of how your gift can help in some of the cause areas:
- Disaster Relief gifts allow charities to respond swiftly following events like Hurricane Ian or the flooding we saw in Pakistan this year. Charities you could support for disaster relief include Americares (#10735), International Medical Corps (#10912), International Relief Teams (#11680) and Save the Children (#12085).
- Global Health pledges go to charities that are providing medical care to treat and prevent illness in communities with little or no health care access otherwise. Charities you could support in global health include ChildFund International (#11385), Partners in Health (#11644), Project HOPE (#11115), UNICEF USA (#12182).
- Refugee gifts help provide shelter and comfort to families that were forced to flee from places like Afghanistan, Ukraine and Myanmar. Charities you could support helping refugees include Church World Service (#10729), HIAS (#10182), International Rescue Committee, Inc. (#11113) and Refugees International (#10664).
