The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area(CFCNCA) launches its 2020 campaign. Federal employees and retirees in the Washington metropolitan and surrounding area are invited to Be the Face of Change when they join the CFC and pledge monetary gifts and volunteer hours. The CFCNCA aims to meet or beat $30 million in pledges in 2020 to help support charities and beneficiaries in need. This year, the official workplace giving campaign of the federal government runs through Jan. 15, 2021.
The campaign theme, Be the Face of Change, invites federal employees and retirees to join the CFC community and make a difference together.
“CFC contributions have never been more critical to our charitable community and populations served,” said Vince Micone, Co-Chairperson of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee, the CFC local board of directors. “Federal employees and retirees are invited to support causes most important to them, Be the Face of Change, and ultimately help those facing economic and other hardships in the midst of these challenging times.”
Approximately 6,000 participating charities, vetted and approved by the Office of Personnel Management, represent an array of causes donors care about: homelessness, the environment, disaster relief, veterans, social justice, animal welfare, and countless more.
For 2020, the CFC is moving to a predominately virtual platform. Federal employees and retirees can now engage with the campaign online, starting with the CFCNCA Kickoff, broadcast on CFCNCA’s YouTube live channel from 10:00 A.M. EDT on Sept. 22, 2020. A series of events, including a training session and charity panel, will follow on Sept. 23, and Sept. 24 respectively. Donors and supporters interested in attending can learn more at the CFCNCA homepage.
“The generosity of the federal community allows charities to do what they do best,” noted Ann Van Houten, Co-Chairperson. “This year, the CFC provides an opportunity for federal employees and retirees to go beyond their call to public service, and help those organizations dedicated to serving others.”
Federal employees or retirees who wish to donate or learn more about the campaign should visit GiveCFC.org.
