The Fourth of July will be America’s 249th year of independence, and “A Capitol Fourth” — celebrating its own 45th anniversary as a national tradition — will be a concert to remember with fireworks and entertainment. The televised event will be hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, and feature a variety of legendary musical performers such as The Beach Boys, The Temptations, Josh Turner, Lauren Daigle, Trombone Shorty, LOCASH, Yolanda Adams, Abi Carter and conductor Jack Everly with the National Symphony Orchestra.
“I’m honored to be back hosting the 45th anniversary of ‘A CAPITOL FOURTH,’” said Ribeiro. “It’s everything you want in an Independence Day celebration – great music and fantastic fireworks. For me, the best part is always the crowd: so many happy, patriotic faces, from grandparents to little kids. You don’t want to miss this party!”
This epic “party” will include a celebration of the 250th anniversaries of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps, a World War II commemoration and tribute, a salute of gratitude for our nation’s first responders, a concert and fireworks display.
Tune into PBS on Friday, July 4, 2025 from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. E.T. for this live event taking place on the West Lawn of the Capitol.
Our military community serving overseas is not forgotten, though, and the show will be on American Forces Network, as well as streamed on YouTube and the PBS website.
