MilSpouseFest announced its 2023 schedule of events, which includes a number of changes as part of a “fresh look.”
Danya Devine, director of MilSpouseFest, said she is excited about fresh venues, new destinations and an inaugural virtual event for the Pacific region.
“We are going to Alaska for the first time, plus returning to Norfolk, Washington D.C., San Antonio, and Fort Hood. We are changing some venues, so in Virginia Beach we found a beautiful venue on the water. In D.C., it’s at the Army-Navy Country Club, which will be a great opportunity and a fun night. Alaska will be at the 49th State Brewing Company,” Devine said.
MilSpouseFest also named military spouse and comedian Ashley Gutermuth as the keynote for all in-person events, plus the virtual Pacific event.
“I am so excited to be a part of MilSpouseFest 2023! I can’t wait to meet everyone and hear all the stories of your dryers being filled with pens!” Gutermuth said.
Devine is “thrilled to have Ashley along for the ride, because she highlights difficult topics — like food insecurity among military families — in a fun-filled way that makes them easier to discuss.”
With a mission of empowering military spouses and families by providing them with information, resources and the community support they need, MilSpouseFest events provide attendees with the opportunity to make new friends and build connections.
Instead of having one main theme, Devine’s “goal is to highlight various topics so everyone in the audience can get something out of the events.”
Major sponsors for MilSpouseFest are USAA, Tutor.com, and MilitaryByOwner, who will be at all events.

Devine shared that one volunteer made a tradition of working at MilSpouseFest events.
“She met her best friend at a MSF event in Oceanside a few years earlier. Her friend just passed away this year, and she promised herself that she would continue going to MSF and support the mission in her friend’s memory.”
