Spring is such a wonderful time to explore Randolph County and enjoy its gorgeous blooming landscapes! With the temperatures in the comfortable high 60s during the day and a cool breeze in the low 40s at night, it is perfect for fun outdoor activities. As you get ready for your visit, be sure to check out all the beauty spread across the nine municipalities. You will find everything from colorful gardens to relaxing parks — there is so much to see and do!

Here is your must-do list to make the most of your spring visit to the Heart of North Carolina:

1. **Visit local botanical gardens at the North Carolina Zoo**

Enjoy the colorful array of flowers and plants coming to life. The North Carolina Zoo has recently been designated as a botanical garden offering over 51,000 plants along five miles of shaded pathways. It is worth the stop between seeing over 1,000 animals at the world’s largest natural habitat zoo.

2. **Take a nature walk along the Deep River State Trail (we have THREE access points)**

Discover the breathtaking beauty of Randolph County through its 19 enchanting trails, including the remarkable Deep River State Trail. As spring unfolds, these paths invite you to embrace adventure through walking, running, or hiking in nature’s embrace. Start planning your next hike here.

3. **Attend spring festivals**

Immerse yourself in local culture with food, crafts, and entertainment. Home to the one of the largest antique festivals in the country – over 400 vendors come to Staley each spring to sell their authentic items on a family farm. This year’s Liberty Antiques Festival occurs on April 25 & 26.

4. **Explore farmers’ markets**

Taste fresh produce and handmade goods while supporting local vendors. Randolph County boasts five farmers markets throughout the county, days and hours of operation vary during the season. From Ramseur to Seagrove, the farms are blossoming. At Millstone Creek Orchards in Ramseur, select Saturdays offering open air Spring Markets and family fun for all ages. At Seagrove Orchids see more than 200 different species, perfect for new or experienced orchid lovers.

5. **Zip through new colors**

Soar above the trees at Kersey Valley Zipline  in Archdale and Richland Creek Zip Line in Asheboro. Ziplining is an exhilarating experience that calls out to all thrill seekers. Embrace the challenge, whether you choose to embark on this adventure solo or share it with a group. Spring is a season of renewal, offering a perfect opportunity to witness the beauty of trees blossoming with new life.

As Randolph County awakens with vibrant hues and gentle breezes, it invites you to shed winter’s embrace and immerse yourself in the rejuvenating spirit of spring. From blooming landscapes to bustling farmers markets and community celebrations, this heart of North Carolina offers a tapestry of experiences to savor. So, pack your bags, embrace the warmth, and create unforgettable memories amidst the beauty of a blossoming season.
