YEAR ROUND SCHOLARSHIPS

MyCAA (My Career Advancement Account)

Who’s eligible: Spouses of active-duty service members and spouses of National Guard and reserve service members on Title 10 orders in pay grades E-1 through E-9, W-1 through W-3 and O-1 through O-3.

What’s the basics: Maximum tuition assistance benefit of $4,000 to be used toward an associate degree, license or certification.

National Military Family Association

Who’s eligible: Open to spouses of service members who served post-9/11 and are on active duty, reservists, guardsmen, retirees, 100% disabled, or are a fallen service member.

What’s the basics: Awards available for all levels of degrees, professional licenses, and certifications, supervised clinical hours, and business expenses.

Army Emergency Relief (for military spouses)

What’s the basics: The Mrs. Patty Shinseki Spouse Scholarship Program is a need-based scholarship program established to assist Army spouses in obtaining an undergraduate degree or similar professional certification.

Coast Guard Mutual Assistance

Who’s eligible: Coasties, spouses and their children.

What’s the basics: Interest-free loans for education expenses up to $6,000.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society

Who’s eligible: Spouses and children of qualified Marines and sailors.

What’s the basics: Needs-based grants and interest-free loans for career & technical education; associate degree; bachelor’s degree; master’s degree.

Air Force Aid Society

Who’s eligible: Children and spouses of Air Force and Space Force members.

Army Emergency Relief (for military kids)

What’s the basics: The Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Program is a need-based scholarship program established to assist children of Army soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degree.

Application timeline: Jan. 1 – Apr. 1

PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS

Coast Guard Foundation

Who’s eligible: Scholarship applications are open to children of active-duty, retired, or active-reserve members from the Coast Guard; two grant programs exist for military spouses.

Application deadline: (for military kids) April 1; (for military spouses) the first deadline is Mar. 1 and the second deadline is Dec. 1.

That Others May Live Foundation

Who’s eligible: Children or grandchildren of U.S. Air Force Combat Rescue personnel.

Application deadline: Apr. 30

Folds of Honor – North Texas

Who’s eligible: Children and spouses of fallen or disabled U.S. service members and first responders.

Green Beret Foundation

Who’s eligible: Daughter or son of a current or veteran United States Army Special Forces soldier. Read link below for full eligibility requirements.

Fisher House Foundation

Who’s eligible: College students of active duty, Guard and reserve or retired military commissary customers.

What’s the basics: A total of 500 scholarships is distributed in the amount of $2,000 each.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

Who’s eligible: Applicant must be the child of an active duty or reserve U.S. Marine, a veteran U.S. Marine who has received an honorable discharge, or who was killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Children of U.S. Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains, or Religious Programs Specialists attached to a Marine unit may also qualify.

What’s the basics: The Homefront Scholars Scholarship Program offers military spouses opportunities in the spring and fall to apply for a $1,000 scholarship.

FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Fellowship Program

What’s the basics: The fellowship provides military spouses the opportunity to earn the Accredited Financial Counselor® certification.

Navy Wives Clubs of America

Who’s eligible: Up to 31 scholarships awarded annually, with eligibility for spouses/dependents of the Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps.

Military Spouse Association Camp Pendleton (California)

Offutt Officers’ Spouses’ Club (Nebraska)

Wright-Patterson Spouses’ Club (Ohio)

Fort Bliss Spouses’ Association (Texas)

JNSA Lackland Spouses’ Club (Texas)

Universities

University of Georgia, School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA)

SPIA Public Trust Military Service Fund

Who’s eligible: Veterans of the U.S. Armed Services, active-duty military, ROTC participants, and members of the National Guard.
What’s the basics: Graduate scholarship supporting students pursuing the Master of Public Administration (MPA) or Master of International Policy (MIP), designed to prepare veterans for careers in state and local government.
Award: $2,000 per year, renewable for up to 2 years.

George and Helen Pryles U.S. Military Veteran Graduate Fellowship Fund

Who’s eligible: Veterans of the U.S. Armed Services enrolling in any SPIA graduate program; preference given to students in Master of Public Administration (MPA) or Master of International Policy (MIP).
What’s the basics: Graduate fellowship established in honor of George and Helen Pryles, both U.S. Navy veterans of World War II, designed to foster continued commitment to public service by equipping veterans with the skills and preparation needed for impactful careers in state and local government.
Award: $4,000 per year, renewable for additional years.
